Subject: Early example of Historic Building treatments in building codes

This is a comprehensive document about English building practices of this time period. The document also contains the London Council Building Act of 1894, which includes a section of "buildings of historic interest." Such buildings were allowed to be repaired with like materials. This is a very early building code provision related to historic buildings.
